4 Kilos Vinicola 2012
13% alcohol content. Manual selection of the grape. 50% was made in stainless steel units and 50% in wood units of 2,500 liters. Distinct fermentation and maceration temperature for each variety without reaching above 86 degrees F and without going under 68 degrees F in temperature.
In August of 2006, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero set up 4 Kilos Vinicola in Mallorca, a company dedicated to producing wines that reflect the strength of the grape and its nuances but with a different approach and different presentation. Their concept is not only that of variety but of the importance of the combination of strain, soil, climate, and growth. Francesc Grimalt, winemaker and former partner / technician of the Anima Negra winery in Mallorca, is known mainly for rescuing the indigenous variety of callet grapes on the Balearic wine scene. Sergio Caballero is musician, founding partner, and co-director of the Sonar festival of advanced music and multimedia arts, which is responsible for 4 Kilos' image. In 2007, alongside Apolonia Viticultors (a Balearic agrarian society), they converted a former sheep farm into a small winery. There 4 Kilos was able to produce the harvest for 4 Kilos 2007 and 12 Volts 2007, a new project that was released on the market in late 2008.
